She was a famous Cambodian singer who was given the nickname of the “Golden Voice”.
She sang from a variety of music genres: from psychedelic and garage rock to blues and film music.
She started signging to Sinn Sisamouth, a very popular singer at time time, and also performed with other prominent singers o the era such as Pan Ron, Houy Meas, and Sos Mat.
She published patriotic songs at the time of the civil war.
When Khmer Rouge took over, she was forced to sing only songs for the new regime.
She disappeared at the age of 29, and although it is uncertain, it is believed that she died during a genocide conducted by Khmer Rouge. Her remains have never been found.
